What’s a garden center look like in the winter?

Although our operations change drastically in the colder months, we do still stay open during the winter and we stay busy! After covering the huts in late fall, we get right to work re-potting things that have outgrown their pots during the year, trimming back woody perennials, conducting inspections and clean-ups of trees, and so much more! We get a huge shipment of hundreds of ball and burlapped trees in early winter and work to get them in the ground and organize the growing areas they are in to make it more convenient for customers to find the best tree for their space! Then we complete an inventory of the THOUSANDS of plants we maintain here! We also inventory the products we sell as well as research and train on how those products can best be used for homeowners. We order new plants for the next growing season and if the weather’s just right, we work in the snow! Throughout winter, we work to get the garden center and all the plants it contains in tip top shape and TRY to patiently await the return of Spring. 🙂
